People of all ages (and their pets) are invited to “Dress Up to Scare Cancer” at this Halloween-themed event, which will feature the Halloween Costume Parade and costume contest, as well as a haunted locker room and dugout, face and pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, a bouncy house, free breakfast by Norwich, CT – Backus Hospital will offer free prostate cancer screenings on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9am − 1pm, in the hospital’s main lobby conference rooms at 326 Washington Street, in Norwich.
Urologists will conduct a DRE prostate exam, and a PSA blood test will be drawn. PSA results will be available in a week. Men who have not seen a urologist within the past year are eligible for this free screening.

In March, Backus performed its first MAKOplasty® for partial knee resurfacing and total hip replacement procedures using the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System.
